Property in La Turbie: selling, buying and letting

A hilltop village just above Monaco, next door to Beausoleil

Just above Monaco, La Turbie brings together a medieval village, the Trophy of Augustus and the Grande Corniche: Transal Properties can help you sell, buy or let there.

La Turbie, between Monaco and the Grande Corniche

A commune of the Alpes-Maritimes bordering the Principality of Monaco, La Turbie lies 450 metres above sea level, just above Monaco, on the Tête de Chien promontory. It also borders Beausoleil, home to our agency, as well as Cap-d'Ail, Èze, Peille and La Trinité.

The commune is known for the Trophy of Augustus, also called the Trophée des Alpes, erected in 6 BC in honour of the Emperor Augustus. At the foot of the Trophy lies the medieval village, with its cobbled lanes and stone houses, close to the Baroque Church of Saint-Michel. The Grande Corniche park, which La Turbie shares with Èze, La Trinité and Villefranche-sur-Mer, offers views along the coast from Italy to the Esterel.

The village is reached via the A8 motorway (exit 57 from Nice, exit 58 from Menton) or the Grande Corniche (D2564). By train, travel to Nice or Monaco station and continue to La Turbie by bus.

Good to know before selling in La Turbie

La Turbie is classified in seismic zone 4 (medium). Géorisques also reports flash-flood risk, ground movement (falling rocks and boulders, landslides, former underground quarries, coastline and cliff retreat, differential settlement), wildfire and the transport of hazardous goods. In seismic zone 4, a risk disclosure statement is compulsory: given to the buyer at the first viewing, it lists the natural-disaster declarations that affected the property and led to compensation. If drought damage that occurred while you owned the property was recognised as a natural disaster and you hold the insurer's expert report, attach the list of repairs not yet carried out.
